G-Power Typhoon BMW X5 and 525 horsepower later

G-Power are putting their impressive tuning skills to work and after the fastest sedan in the world, the BMW M5, they worked their magic on the BMW X5. The results? 525 horsepower and a top speed of 170 mph(275 km/h).

This all-wheel drive “beast” runs from 0-62 in 6.2 seconds, about a second improvement from the regular 4.8i X5.

If under the hood upgrades are quite impressive, G-Power surprised us with an aerodynamic and pretty good looking exterior kit. The front larger air intakes remind us of the upcoming BMW X5 M, but they were obviously designed with better engine cooling in mind.

The curved fender flares on front and rear axle come complete with matching fender liners and add seven centimeters to the width of the X5.

For the WOW effect, G-Power Typhoon rocker panels feature five blue LED lights each, activated by pulling the door handle or by the keyless fob. The tops of the rocker panels feature integrated stainless-steel inserts with blue illuminated G-POWER logo.

While the performance is a bit lower than the upcoming BMW X5 M(550hp), will it make sense for a BMW buyer to go with the cheaper modded version rather than the “real deal”?
